This is for the woman who has always cared about doing a brilliant job.

Whatever the challenge, whatever the goal, you've always worked hard, been strong, aimed high, and held yourself to high standards. That's just who you are. It's worked for you your whole life. And it’s always paid off.

But motherhood? This is the first time that equation has stopped working. Despite all the books you’re reading, all the parenting accounts you’re following, all the podcasts you’re listening to.

If you're used to being someone who figures it out, tries harder, gets it right — and you suspect that this time, that might be the thing that's breaking you, this is for you.

mother first, therapist second.

I’m Becky Selbie. A Psychotherapeutic Counsellor who works exclusively with mothers. Oh and a perfectly imperfect mum of two.

My concept of “Going beige” didn’t come from any of my psychotherapy textbooks, although it is rooted in much of my training. It actually came from my own brutal start to motherhood, the years I spent burning out and depressed trying to follow every rule perfectly. The framework I built came later, sharpened by my training as a maternal mental health therapist. But it started with me, on the floor, not the other way round.

Join me to hear the story of how I discovered this. I’ll help you spot the motherhood rules you're almost certainly following without knowing it. And i’ll give you real examples of what going beige actually looks like, and the difference it makes.

For one hour, we're going to talk about what happens when you put that rulebook down. On purpose, when it matters. Not always. Not perfectly. But definitely when your tank's empty, and something has to give.

What this is, and what it isn’t

This isn't a course. It's not a workshop in the way you're picturing one. There's nothing to learn by heart, no worksheets, no "10 steps to fix yourself." Nothing to pass or fail.

It's simply an hour with someone just like you, who found a way to still be the brilliant mum I wanted to be. But without it costing me everything, or leaving me exhausted and frustrated.

What you need to bring

Come with an open mind. Be willing to consider that in the bits that don't really matter (even though right now, all of it feels like it matters), you might be able to aim slightly less high — and come out the other side better, not worse.

Because that's what going beige gave me: motherhood that's more enjoyable, more manageable, and something left in the tank at the end of the day. Not a lower bar. A better one.

You'll leave with permission, a way to spot the moments that matter, and an additional 45 minute audio to keep you going after we log off.

One hour. No slides. Camera on or off. Just us.
